The valley comprises three cities of kathmandu ,patan and bhaktapur which share among themselves seven world heritage sites.The valley is like on vast open air museum of newar culture with it’s colossalensembleofsculptures,temples ,monuments,and magnificent art.the major palces of interest in kahamndu are the Durbar square ,an assembley of palaces courtyards and temples buit between 12th and 18th centuries by the malla kings swayambhu stupa ,boudhanath stupa, the large stupa in the valley that rises 36m;pashupatinath temple,one of the holiest hindu shrines in the world;and changunarayan temple,dedicated to lord Vishnu and oen if the finest and oldest speciments of pagoda architecture.

Swayambhunath temple

This temple is one of the world's most enchanting glorious Buddhist Chaityas. It is said to be more than 2000 years old. Painted on the four side of the spire bases are the all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. It is about three kilometers west of down town and is situated on a hillock about 77m above the level of the Kathmandu valley

Bouddhanath Temple

This Stupa of Bouddhanath is situated eight kilometers east of Kathmandu. The magnificent and old age Stupa is one of the biggest in the world. It is is recorded in the world heritage site

Durbar Square

It is the historic seat of royalty. The durbar square, with it's old temples and places, epitomizes the religious and cultural life of the people. It is also listed in the world heritage site by UNESCO

Pashupatinath Temple

It is situated five kilometers east of Kathmandu. The temple of Lord Shiva also known as Pashupatinath with two tired golden roof and silver door is famous for its superb architecture. Visitors can easily see the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati River
